I'm not sure exactly what problem you are experiencing, but you may find that some anti-virus programs are responsible for launching mail and IM's in order to "monitor" them, and you have to turn off their monitoring of those apps to stop the AV from launching them. This isn't an OS feature. I run Windows Mail, or Windows Live mail, only as needed, and it does not behave in the manner I think you describe. HTH -pk |
