Vista - How to I Import messages from Outlook

Can anyone help?? I am trying to import messages from outlook but as soon as
i select thsi option on the import menu i get an error message saying
messages can't be imported from the MAPI client - how can i resolve this??

You need to post more detail. What version of Outlook? What version of
OS? Exactly how are you trying to import? From a pst? Why are you
importing messages? What problem are you trying to solve?

I had outlook 2007 on my old PC at work and am trying to import the pst files
onto my new lapto.

I am importing by choosing the import option, then messages I then click on
outlook and that is where I get the error message.

Am on Vista Home Premium

To directly import the .pst info, Outlook needs to be installed on the Vista
computer, and set to use the .pst file.

Otherwise, on the XP computer, export the Outlook info to Outlook Express
format.
Copy the .dbx & .wab files to a temporary folder on the Vista computer
Import into WM. (be wary of the path to the files)

Still need more information...what is the version of Outlook or the name
of your e-mail client (maybe it's not Outlook) on your new laptop?

Regardless...I'll assume it's Outlook 2007. Do not import from the pst.
Simply copy your pst file to your laptop. Then from Outlook, click on
File - Open - Outlook Data File. Then browse to your pst file to open
it. You will then see your messages, calendar, contacts, etc. in Outlook.
