Windows mail stationery

I have been using VISTA for almost a week so I don't understand it very well
yet. I tried to download some new stationery from the microsoft link
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/stationerymail.mspx
It seemed to download ok but the new stationery does not appear as a choice.
Am I doing something wrong? Is it possible to download new stationery for
microsoft mail?

Re: Windows mail stationery

Are you putting the stationery in the correct location?
From another post:

The stationery default location is now under the message store location (see
www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#wm). In order for some to display correctly,
WinMail has to be put into the restricted zone under Tools | Options |
Security. Otherwise, most work okay.

I've looked at many in the Stationery newsgroup while testing Vista and they
seem to work fine for the most part. There may also be some IE7 security
settings that may need changing.

Re: Windows mail stationery

The stationery is in C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft
shared\Stationery I can see it listed in the contents of the local disk (C)
with the original stationery. But it doesn't show up as a choice in the email.

Re: Windows mail stationery

The stationery is no longer in that place. Read the link posted and quoted
from below.

Re: Windows mail stationery

By default, this storage folder is placed on the C drive, under your
username in the AppData\Local\Microsoft\ Windows Mail directory.

Re: Windows mail stationery

Create a new message via Message | New message using and select one of the
stationery examples. Then go to View | Source Edit and click on the source
tab. Near the top will be a <Base href statement and in there is the full
path to the stationery directory.
