| | word wrap and indentation on replies don't work Hi! I've setup Windows Mail to use plain text only and in the plain text settings word wrap is set to 76 characters and the option of indentation with ">" is checked. However, it's not working properly. The indentation is only done on some e-mails (haven't figured out a pattern there though) and the word wrap doesn't seem to work at all. Any ideas? Cheers, Matt |

| | Re: word wrap and indentation on replies don't work This has always been a weakness in Outlook Express also. If an incoming email uses the Quoted-Printable format, when you reply to it, no indentation with '>' will occur. As far as word wrap on plain text outgoing messages, I don't use the auto-wrap feature because it is a bit squirrely. I have the auto-wrap column set to 130, then I manually hit Enter when it looks like I'm at column 72 or so. I wish Windows Mail had a WYSIWYG editor, so you could see what the composed email will look like after it is reformatted during the send process. In addition to Gary's reply, this also applies to virtually all received messages that were in HTML, which generally uses MIME/Quoted Printable. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM http://www.fjsmjs.com |
