Cannot Delete Mail from Inbox of Windows Mail Version 6.0.6000.163

I have my Inbox open and am reading mail. As I go along I delete the mail I
no longer want. I can delete maybe five or six messages, sometimes even
20, 30 or 40 messages, when it just stops letting me delete mail. I can hit
the delete key and nothing happens. I right click and select delete,
nothing happens. I have even tried Shift+Delete, nothing happens. I can
open the mail, read it, move on to the next message, open and read it, but
can no longer delete any mail. If I close Windows Mail and then reboot, I
can then delete those message I couldn't delete before. I'll continuing
reading mail and then further in the list, this will happen again. Very
annoying to have to keep rebooting to delete mail from your inbox.

Any ideas?

P.S. This is not the problem where you can't delete the mail from the
"Deleted Items" folder. That in itself is very annoying and I do have one
of those messages. This is the the Inbox folder.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Turn off email scanning of your antivirus software. See
www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

see if that helps.

Re: Cannot Delete Mail from Inbox of Windows Mail Version 6.0.6000

That explains it.
Both McAfee and Norton antivirus are incompatible with Windows Mail.
Those should be uninstalled and replaced with a compatible antivirus
like the free version of Avast:
