SMTP error

Dont understand this - I have been sending and receiving for months - no
problem. Now I cannot send - I have reset all email accounts (its not just
one acount - its them all).

I have even done system restore a few days before this went wrong.



I have run virus checker etc.

Any good ideas?

Your virus checker could well be the problem.
For instance, McAfee and Norton anti virus suites
are not compatible with Vista in spite of some users
not yet having a problem.

Uninstall them if you have either and use free alternatives
such as Avast or AVG.

Meanwhile, post the full error message that includes
the diagnostic codes etc.

Thanks - I will see what space says about BT first then - if that does not
work I will follow up your idea about McAfee (even though it came

I tried early today and there was no message and nothing via the website so
I thought the problem was my side not theirs.

There is a problem with BT but once that is sorted it won't be long
before you get screwed by McAfee anyway.

Norton and McAfee are often preinstalled since they bribe
PC manufacturers to do so.

I should know better - trouble is I am not certain which antivirus is the
best at the moment both in being user friendly and efficient.
