| | Windows Mail I have configured windows mail with my ISP whis BT internet. I has been working correctly but sunndently will not send/receive mail. I can still retrieve and send mail via the Web-site and can access my Emails using outlook express on a lap-top using windows XP Any ideas why this has happened? |

BT changed the sending port (SMTP) to 587 without telling anybody. It shouldn't affect receiving mail though so that might be an incompatible antivirus software problem. If you are using Norton or McAfee they need to be uninstalled entirely and replaced with a compatible suite such as Avast. http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html Note. disable or do not install the email scanning component since it is superfluous. http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 |
