Using gmail, I get an error reading "the e mail address configured for sending via SMTP is incorrect". Can anyone help decipher this issue? Thanks -- Tim Barrow SMTP is your outgoing email server. In Windows Mail: 1. Click Tools. 2. Click Accounts. 3. Select your Email account and click Properties. 4. Look in the Server and Advanced tabs Compare your settings to these at Gmail's website and make sure they are the same. The OE settings are the same for Windows Mail. Gmail: Help Center - Configuring your email client: Outlook Express Hope this helps, Shawn |

| | Re: SMTP error Here are all the error messages I get When trying to send I get this message : -- The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'hard drive ', Account: 'Windows Mail', Server: 'smtp.gmail.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10013, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E In addition I tried using GMAIL troubleshooter and it gives me this message : the e mail address configured for sending via SMTP is incorrect. Does this make any damn sense to anyone? Tim Barrow "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: > Is that the complete error message? Tools > Accounts > your email > Properties > General > Email Address Check the following too Tools > Accounts > your email > Properties > Servers > Email User name BTW which AV are you using? |

| | Re: SMTP error Julian, Thanks for the help unfortunately, I had no success. Im about to chuck this brand new toshiba off the 3rd story deck of my house and scream. I think I know what the problem is but I dont know how to fix the problem. If I delete the e mail account and reconfigure it from the start there is a email address that stays the same no matter how often I change it and it is a typo (.mail instead of .gmail). This is why i am getting rhe error that reads there is conflicting email accounts. Have you heard of this occuring? Thanks, -- Tim Barrow "brink" wrote: > > barrow3551;402206 Wrote: > > I found a great program that was very helpful, but, I can not figure out > > how > > to clear one error. Can someone help,Please?
