Vista - Sending and Receiving Concerns

Recently, when I hit the "send and receive" button to clear my e-mail
messages, I'm having the problem with this hanging. In other words, when I
click on "details," it's showing that the send and receive are "still
processing" and that there are no green bars moving. I've tried to
delete/reinstall my e-mail account, but nothing works. What is causing the
delay in processing? Thanks in advance.

It may be antivirus scanning interference.
Windows Mail is notoriously sensitive to AV scanners,
particularly Norton and McAfee.

If you are using either uninstall it entirely and
use a free Vista compatible alternative such as
Avast http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
