Can't Send Emails - no error messages, they just don't go

I'm on a wireless network using Time Warner's RoadRunner as my ISP. I just
got an HP laptop woth Vista loaded. I can send/receive email just fine - as
tested with my old XP system. But the new Vista system will not sendor
receive. There are no error messages; the servers are apparently "seen" and
the messages appear in the sent box. But they aren't sent: I never receive
them on either system and, viewing the web-based mail for my ISP as I send
mail, they never show up.

I had Norton installed, but uninstalled it.

Any suggestions???

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
should be uninstalled.

And a wooden stake hammered through their heart.

You can enable a log file under Tools | Options | Advanced | Maintenance for
the mail and then that might help diagnose the problem. Make sure that
eventually you turn that option off though, as otherwise it will slow down
WinMail.
