| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: disk size of email I have not heard of any size limit other than the size of your hard drive. The location of the messages are here : C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local Folders. NOTE: You must have "Show hidden files and folders" checked in Folder Options to see "AppData". Hope this helps, Shawn |

| | Re: disk size of email Its very robust with the messages now being stored separately from the database. I've tested with 300,000 messages in one folder. steve "LL" <LL@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:BB4D0CF8-B4A3-449A-8F20-CB0CD475F0F9@microsoft.com... >i hope there is a simple way i can figure out not just the total number of > email in a folder/tree in windows mail, but the total file size. i wish to > confirm if there are any size limit that windows mail can support before > it > fails. |

| | Re: disk size of email I overstated. I tested with 132,000 messages not 300,000. steve "Steve Cochran" <scochran@oehelp.com> wrote in message news:6426C834-7A62-4402-AC72-17112960B803@microsoft.com... > Its very robust with the messages now being stored separately from the > database. | | Re: disk size of email Well a "folder" in WinMail is a directory of eml files. Its 1.2 gigabytes with those messages. steve "Ron Sommer" <rsommer@nospam.ktis.net> wrote in message news:uAqnKIQ1HHA.5884@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > Needless to say, your test folder was larger than 100 MG. :-) > -- > Ronald Sommer > > "Steve Cochran" <scochran@oehelp.com> wrote in message > news:B805C6EC-B430-416A-A3FB-DDB9F73CB32A@microsoft.com... > :I overstated.
