Vista - Cropping my e-mail

Hi
I have an e-mail address with btinternet.com, which i would like to shorten
ie not showing my full name, as i set this account up a few years ago when i
first started using my pc has anyone any ideas, there has to be an easy way ,
please advise and take care, i know this is not usually asked on windows
mail, but thanks alot

Tools, Accounts, select the account, Properties, then on the General tab
change your name to anything you want, click OK.

You can't change the actual email address yourself. Your email provider has
to do this.

But lets not get too confused here.

Say you look at the To or From field of a message and see

Tom Adams tom.adams@isp.net

The "Ton Adams" part is under your control. The rest can only be changed by
the email provider.
