Re: Sending a large attachment.

Thanks for the feedback.
Glad to hear that it might work better this way.

All the best for your biography project!

P.S. Thanks for the kind invitation. It's a bit far, however, from
Germany to "down under" ;-)

Thanks for the pointer.
I had it on my old machine under XP.
But the XP-PowerToys do not install without a warning. So I did not
install any of them.

Did you install the tool under Vista?
Any problems?

Re: Sending a large attachment.

When viewing the pictures folder,
"You can resize images to some set sizes by selecting "EMail"."

Sorry, XP Image Resizer doesn't work in Vista.

I haven't tried this product:

That's what I had assumed.
Thanks for the conformation.
Too bad that there (not yet?) any PowerToys for Vista. I'm seriously
missing TweakUI [siiiiigh].

Interesting! Did not yet detect the features. Thanks for telling me!
It seems to be some workaround:
- select the files,
- click on "email" and have them attached to a new mail,
- save the mail,
- then save the files from there.

Thanks for the reference.
Will have a look.

BTW: The "Batch Conversion" tool in Irfanview is really powerful.
One can - besides many other options - resize the content of a whole
folder in just one run.

Thanks again.
Installed it and will keep it. Really nice tool.
Easier and more intuitive than the batch-conversion of my beloved
Irfanview ;-) (not as many option, however).

Thanks once more

Re: Sending a large attachment.

Does McAfee not work well with Vista?? I am having big problems with sending
photos through windows mail. The computer I bought came with mcAfee (a Dell
computer) and I'm wondering - if there is a problem with McAfee and windows
mail, why does Dell sell or recommend McAffee with Vista??? Very annoying!

Not very well, it has been implicated in several problems.

Money. Dell are paid to include it.
McAfee, Norton and the others are practicing a form of loss leader marketing
where they give away a version of their product in the hope of getting very
profitable repeat business.

Cannot send large attachments

The problem occurs because McAfee thinks that a Worm is active when sending a large email attachment and blocks the sending after some time.
Solution: Goto to McAfee Virusscan Options, choose active shield, choose Advanced, unselect scriptstopper.
This should solve the issue.
