how do i subscribe to newsgroups in windows mail? (vista)

I have tried everything but can't seem to get it...
i finally was able to limp thru to the point where i got almost hooked up to
somethoing called directory.verisign.com. i assume it is the server
provided by the internet provided here at the coffee shop...(i use their
wireless connection)
i got as far as "connecting to server" and after some time it said unable to
connect to server. it is an unsecured connection so i seems it would
connect but... help

Not sure I understand the problem. Since you posted this note I assume you
subscribed to this newsgroup. Are you having a problem making a connection
or finding newgroups? A good place to start if looing for Windows newsgroups
is
http://www.microsoft.com/communities...s/default.mspx. When you narrow down
the language, area, and topic your intersted in you can go to the specific
newgroup and the option to subscribe will be offered.

The OP's problem was that he needed a news server. He should have
checked with his ISP.

Msnews.microsoft.com does not have access to non-Microsoft newsgroups.

Some ISP's may not provide a news server in which case most newsgroups
are available through the free Motzarella server http://www.motzarella.org/
