| Guest | Problems Receiving Email I am having problems receiving emails, although I can send ok. I have checked the settings on my laptop, these are the same as my pc. PC works fine but laptop is a problem. Receiving this error message "Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'pop.karoo.co.uk', Server: 'pop.karoo.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F"....any ideas? Thanks -- Don |

| Guest | Re: Problems Receiving Email This has been useful, time for me to think about taking NAV off my new Vista computer! Is there a way to get Microsoft Mail to leave the mail messages on the server. I quite like using Microsoft Mail when I am away from the office but it deletes the messages from the server when it collects them. I would prefer the messages to remain on the server so that the office mail software can still collect the messages for the rest of my colleagues to read. Any advice welcome. | Guest | Re: Problems Receiving Email Dear Cal Bear, Thank you, will try this and revert back to you. BTW which is the "best" anti virus software for Vista which will not interfere with Microsoft Mail, or for anything else either! | Administrator ![]() ![]() | Re: Problems Receiving Email AVG or Avast are some great free AV programs with no problems with Windows Mail. Just make sure that you leave all email scanning options disabled or turned off. | Guest | Re: Problems Receiving Email I am, at the moment, using Microsoft's OneCare (came free with my purchase of Vista) and have had NO problems at all on my Vista Ultimate x86. I use Avast (free) on my Vista Business x64 also with no problems. Other users like AVG (also free), and I have read very good things about NOD 32 (not free). In any event, e-mail scanning should be turned OFF in any anti-virus program as it is redundant and provides no real benefit -- I Bleed Blue and Gold GO BEARS!
