Contact list appearance

I am migrating from an XP machine to Vista. I exported all my e-mail
including groupings, etc., successfully. I moved my address book from Outlook
Express to my new machine. But the contact list on the new machine shows as a
list sorted by first names. That's not very helpful. How can I sort the
contact list by last name? Or how do I re-export my address book in a
different format?

Open the Contacts folder and right click the column header line and select
Last Name column, then click on that header to sort by.

Re: Contact list appearance

Sounded good - and thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't do anything. I
strongly suspect that I had to specify some order when I exported. Any hints
there?

Re: Contact list appearance

Try this:
Create Mail, click on 'To:', then click on the Name column header.
Each time you click, it will cycle through four different arrangements.

If this does not meet your needs, try upgrading to Windows Live Mail.

Re: Contact list appearance

other Thanks, Gary. That sounds promising. Actually, I had major problems
with my new PC - it wouldn't connect to the Internet. Spent 5 hours
(literally) on the phone with 3 different tech people, and they finally gave
up and the machine is being spent back to be replaced. So I can't try this
with Vista until my new machine arrives.
