| | How do I dump Windows Mail Altogether? I'm running Vista on a high end workstation with 2 Gig of ram, a quad core processor. and 10000 Rpm hard drives. Windows Mail is so slow to launch and retrieve that I feel like I'm running it on a 286. I'm using Avast anti virus and it doesn't seem to make a difference whether Email scanning is on or off .... this program just plain blows. Can I dump this crap and install Outlook Express in Vista or do I need to go to a third party mail program like Thunderbird or Eudora? |

OE doesn't install on Vista but you could try Windows Live Mail which some people, me for instance, prefer to Windows Mail. http://get.live.com/betas/maildesktop_betas |

| | Re: How do I dump Windows Mail Altogether? Thanks ... I'm already running live mail for my hotmail account. I'm looking to sort my other mail accounts. (notably the ones I receive downloaded files on) I'll probably just go to thunderbird and be done with it. I appreciate the reply.
