Windows mail Send & Receive all blank error

Hi,

I get an error message when I try to use the Send/Receive All button in
Windows Mail on Vista Home Premium x64. I have imported my old emails from
Outlook 2002 on my XP machine, but not the account settings. I did this by
exporting them from Outlook 2002 then Importing them to Outlook express on
the XP machine, then exporting them again and finally impoting them to
Windows Mail on Vista machine.

When I open Mail, it automatically Sends/Receives with no problem, but if I
try to use then button after this it comes up with the progress screen
saying there were errors but the error field is blank. If I use the Send All
or Receive All buttons they operate with no problem.

Can anyone help??

Thanks

Dan

Re: Windows mail Send & Receive all blank error

This problem may be caused by your antivirus program.
Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee or Norton
security programs. Those will need to be uninstalled.
Replace with a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Re: Windows mail Send & Receive all blank error

NOD32 is compatible, but be sure its mail scanning option is
turned off.

I have done that, but I'm still getting the same problem. Have you got any
other ideas?

Once scanning is off you could try deleting and recreating the email
account in WM.

Re: Windows mail Send & Receive all blank error

I know that the X64 version of Vista has some peculiar issues,
but frankly I haven't kept up with that aspect. I have my
hands full with 32-bit issues. :-)

Re: Windows mail Send & Receive all blank error

No that didn't work either. I suspect it has something to do with importing
the messages from Outlook (via Outlook Express on the XP machine) The reason
I think this is that if I log on as a different user and collect their
emails it doesn't happen, and I didn't import anything for them.

It's really annoying!! Is their a way of doing a repair of windows mail??

I have the same problem in Vista Business 32-bit.
The send/receive results in a blank error. The TOOLS/SEND AND RECEIVE/SEND
AND RECEIVE ALL choice on the menu bar gets the same error.
THe program sends & receives at start-up, but will not connect again until
re-start.
