Re: Windows Mail problems

Your diagnosis is incorrect. Pendo86 does not have an email
stuck in the Outbox.

That utility will not actually fix the underlying problem,
ie. what causes the message to be stuck in the out box,
but provides a workaround.

If you use Norton or McAfee there's a good chance that you
will have to "fix" the problem again, and again, and again... etc.

Don't listen to those with no expertise.

Please explain how the problem is caused then?

Evidence?
Also, why doesn't it happen to Avast or AVG users?

That get's you working again but it does not prevent messages getting
stuck in the Outbox.

Why are you trying to suppress advice that could help other users
avoid the problem in the first place?

Re: Windows Mail problems

OK mood! Cool it. I didn't mean to offend your experties! I was mearly
stating that I didn't think it was the problem because I've been using it for
months. I'll give it a try and see if it works, just a shame that I paid for
Norton and I can't use it.

Get a refund.
Norton may try to put you off but persist and you will
succeed since they are well aware of the problem of
some of their products not being fully compatible
with Vista.

Re: Windows Mail problems

We get quite a few reports here from people who've used
Windows Mail successfully for several months, then boom!
Suddenly it quits working. After uninstalling Norton or McAfee,
Windows Mail begins working again.

Like Julian says, get a refund from Symantec. That's what I did
after buying my last copy of NAV in 2003.

RE: Windows Mail problems

How can I remove windows mail problem no 3 from my PC? I have sufficient
disk space and I think my memory space is ok too. This is a new PC so I do
not know how to delete the received message which cannot be displayed?

Re: Windows Mail problems

Use the Microsoft fix:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090
"Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a
computer that is running Windows Vista"

That page offers two download options. Unless you know for sure
you have 64-bit Vista, use the 32-bit option.

Also, although only the outbox is mentioned, it works for all stuck
emails regardless of which folder they are in.

RE: Windows Mail problems

Gary,

If I remove McAfee, will my email program work normally again? It's making
me mad cuz I spent $80.00 on McAfee for the year and never had any problems
with it before. I recently got a new PC with Vista installed and Windows
Mail as well. Before I had Outlook Express with Windows XP and I subscribed
to McAfee. I never had any problems like I'm having now.

Any other suggestions???

Thanks...

Gary Kracker
