MIcrosof Office Outlook - Windows Mail

I have Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit and Microsoft Office Professional 2007,
but when I try import messages from Outlook to Windows Mail always appears
the following message: "Messages cannot be imported from MAPI client".
Can anyone help me?

I have the same issue. I have been asking around and searching for
months. No one has a damned clue.

Re: MIcrosof Office Outlook - Windows Mail

Me too. Help text clearly indicates that Outlook mail can be imported to
Windows Mail. Worse yet, why put the Outlook option on the import window if
it just triggers an error message? You would think it would not be listed as
an option. Just another reason why my next machine will be a Mac.

It is customary in Usenet/newsgroups postings to quote at least a
snippet of the post you are responding to.

No, I don't think that. I wonder why you're moaning
instead of posting the message to get help.

ps. Macs have error messages too.

Re: MIcrosof Office Outlook - Windows Mail

The error message is the result of NOT having Outlook installed. Outlook
must be installed because Windows Mail uses it to access the .PST (Personal
Folders) file. No Outlook, you get the error message.

Re: MIcrosof Office Outlook - Windows Mail

Is Outlook installed and functional on the machine you're using to do the
transfer? That error message usually indicates you don't have Outlook
installed. Outlook is REQUIRED by both Windows Mail and the older Outlook
Express in order to access the .PST (Personal Folders) file.
