Re: Attachments with .email suffix

Save the attachment to your hard drive.
Go to the saved attachment.
Right click, Open With, choose Windows Mail.
Check always use this program.

Re: Attachments with .email suffix

I tried this Ronald and it just took me to my inbox. I've tried to
associate it with other programs i.e. word, media center but nothing seems
to work. Thanks for your quick suggestions.

Re: Attachments with .email suffix

Try this:
Save the attachment and rename it with a .eml extension.
When you double-click on it, it should open in Windows Mail.
If that does not work, rename it with a .txt extension, and it
should open in Notepad.

Hi Ron,

The .email extension is used by Outlook Express. Windows Mail cannot open it. You will need Outlook Express 2003 or newer installed on your computer to be able to open and read it.

Re: Attachments with .email suffix

The first part of your answer is correct.
As far as the rest of your answer, it is not correct.
..email files are text based files.
They can be opened with any text program if they are registered.
Windows Mail will not open an email extension, because that file type is not
registered to Windows Mail.
I opened an .email file with Windows Live Mail after I registered the file
type.

Re: Attachments with .email suffix

An .EMAIL file is an alternate file extension for an .EML file. One option
is to save the attachment, then rename with an .EML file name. Another isto
create a file association for .EMAIL files. Use folder Options to create a
new File Type for .EMAIL and duplicate the settings listed for .EML files.
