Can anyone enlighten me? Thank you.

You have incorrectly specified your servers....

''smtp.hotpop.com*, port 25' should read ''mail.hotpop.com'
and
'pop.hotpop.com, port 110' should read 'pop.hotpop.com'

Change them via...

Tools > Accounts > your email > Properties > Servers

At the Hotpop.com website: (OE has the same setup as Windows Mail)

HotPOP: Client Setup - Microsoft Outlook Express 6.0

SMTP server name: smtp.hotpop.com
POP3 server name: pop.hotpop.com

I've told them to correct it.

Sure you can. You just need to setup Gmail to enable POP3 after you setup an account with them.

Gmail: Help Center - How do I enable POP?


Here is how you set up Windows Mail. It is the same as in OE. Look at the "To configure your client manually: " section.

What was the error this time... all the message please?

Yes, you can use Gmail, I do and it is very good and easy to set up...

Get a Gmail account...

Then set it up in WM as you would with Outlook Express (manually)

Many people overlook the enabling of POP within Gmail
and/or forget to save changes... don't be another bozo!

You can use either, or both Hotpop.com and Gmail.
If you need help, post the exact error message.
