| Vista | Mail and GMail issue I have set up my GMail account for POP access. I had no problem receiving emails through GMail using Outlook Express. However, I can receive all emails sent to my GMail account through Mail except for ones I sent myself. Any ideas? |

| | Re: Mail and GMail issue This is normal for Gmail. I've experienced the same Gmail bug for years already, as have others. | Vista | Re: Mail and GMail issue It hasn't been normal for me. I had no problem doing this on XP with OE but cannot now do it now with Vista and Mail. |

| | Re: Mail and GMail issue What's the problem? Windows Mail can access Gmail accounts just fine. | | Re: Mail and GMail issue Finally figured it out. Open email, go to contacts, this brings up HP Administrators-contacts. Highlight the contact you want, click on email tab and type your message and send from this location. Once this proccedure is done, then you can go directly to email and click on create mail, and type in first letter of contact and it will import the list of contacts in that group. Highlight contact, and all is well from there on out. What a pain in the but to figure out. "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: > This is normal for Gmail. | Vista | Re: Mail and GMail issue Sorry for not being more clear. I have no problem receiving emails from other people sent to my GMail account by using MS Mail to connect via POP. And I can send emails to others using MS Mail through GMail. However, if I try to send MYSELF an email, that email shows up in my GMail account but is not then downloaded by MS Mail via POP. Thoughts? |

Both Gary and myself raised the issue with Google yesterday. They asked me for more info (my WM configuration) which I supplied in spite of my belief that it is not a WM issue, but they haven't yet hinted at possible cause or solution. It could well raise it's priority, the more the merrier, if you also raised it with them. |

| | Re: Mail and GMail issue One of the tricks Virusites and Phishers use if to send you an email spoofing your own address so your SPAM and VIRUS filters will pass it. GMail "probably" blocks receiving messages from the same address for this reason. There might be a GMail setting for this.... I have not looked. | Vista | Re: Mail and GMail issue I will pass this along to the Google folks. The odd thing is that this worked fine when I was using OE on XP. I had no problem sending emails to myself. And in fact, now I can send emails to myself from within GMail and they are then downloaded to MS Mail. But if they originate in MS Mail, then aren't downloaded to MS Mail. Weird eh? That is why I think this is a MS Mail issue rather than a GMail issue. The only thing that has changed has been moving from OE to MS Mail. |

It actually puts Vista itself in the frame, no? Anyway... let's see what Goggle say. |
