| | Bellsotuh DSL Email Error 0x800CCC19 I have Bellsouth DSL. I am unable to send or receive. When I first started the DSL 6 weeks ago, it worked great. 3 weeks later, the email stopped working. I can go to the Bellsouth web-based email and it works fine...I just can't get it to come to my home-based email. I start windows mail and it says, "Receiving 1 of 8," but then never arrives. The error is, "Account: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19. I recently down loaded a program (Reg Cure) that said it would fix this...did not fix. Help Please. |

Make sure your antivirus program has all of it's email scanning options turned off. This is a redundant feature that can corrupt Windows Mail. Plus, you will still be protected by your antivirus's real-time resident monitoring protection. Norton and McAfee seem to be the worst offenders with Windows Mail problems even with email scanning off, while the free Avast has not had any problems reported so far. If you do have Norton or McAfee, it will be best to delete your current email account and create it again after you uninstall Norton or McAfee. It has most likely been corrupted. (Click Tools, Accounts, Add, E-mail) Free antivirus - avast! 4 Home Edition Shawn |

| | Re: Bellsotuh DSL Email Error 0x800CCC19 Hey Brink, Thanks for the help. I don't have Norton or McAffee, I have Trend Micro Virus. I also have Webroot Spy Sweeper. Through trial and error I discovered that my spy sweeper has an email attachments shield for "POP3 and SMTP email programs." I turned it off and WOW...IT WORKED! Hopefully someone reading this will also be helped. One thing I am still confused about is why couldn't Bellsouth tell me this info? Have a great day! Thanks Again, Carlo "brink" wrote: Quote: > > Carlo;436343 Wrote: Quote: > > I have Bellsouth DSL. I am unable to send or receive. | | Re: Bellsotuh DSL Email Error 0x800CCC19 The reason Bellsouth tech support couldn't tell you this is because, like most large providers, they pay so little that they can only get under-qualified applicants who are given very little training.
