| Guest | Email in outbox -- help I've read the threads and I admit I'm NOT the most computer literate person in the world. I am so frustrated. I had my mail accounts working in Windows Mail just fine. Then I got a message that said "Message could not be displayed Windows Mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this message." I don't have a clue why this is in my outbox. But, ever since then I can't get any of my messages to send out of the outbox. I have gone to Tools, Accounts, Add, Mail and added the information again and deleted the original one. I still can't get the emails out of the outbox. It's so frustrated as there are many of them there and I need to communicate. So far, all I've managed to do is waste my time answering messages that are just stuck in the outbox. Remember, I'm not the most computer literate person in the world. If you have some advice for me that is very specific I would so appreciate it because I'm ready to pull my hair out. Thanks! |

First, to get rid the message stuck in the outbox use this... http://www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/Default.aspx Note. To make the function you need available you must follow the instructions, particularly those in the red box... Second, to prevent the error reoccurring you must deal with the cause which is most likely to be an incompatible antivirus program such as Norton or McAfee (there are others). Such POS must be uninstalled entirely and replaced with a compatible product such as Avast - http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html Note. Omit the email scanning process at install time as it is superfluous. http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 When you changed you antivirus software it is a good idea delete and recreate you account in Windows Mail (as you already did) to ensure there is no lingering corruption. |
