Since you imply that you have had your Windows Mail working it
suggests that you have been screwed by antivirus software.

Are you a Norton or McAfee user?

Do you have a message stuck in your outbox?

Post any error messages and code you see, here.

Re: sending emails

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'condo', Account: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Server:
'mail.bellsouth.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error
Number: 0x800CCC0F

This is my error message
Thanks, Cindy

Hi Cindy,

As Julian suspects, it sound like you have a stuck undeletable message in your Outbox. Check and see if you do. If you do, then read the top portion at this link and do the "Stuck Outbox" section to get rid of it. If not, please provide any error message you may be getting.

Re: sending emails

At first glance I would say it is probably caused by your antivirus.
Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee or Norton
security programs. Those will need to be uninstalled, not just
disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see

Gary is correct.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled.
