If you used Outlook Express on the old computer, see

Re: copying inbox from old pc to new

Does anyone know how to import e-mail from an external hard drive? I had an
XP PC, it died. Luckily (or so I toought) all my C: drive was backed-up ont
the external hard drive. Now I have a VISTA PC. WIndows Mail says it can't
find any messages. I see a folder labelled OUTLook Express order - I saved
some e-mails in there, but the Windows MAil doesn't recognize that either.

Would you know where on the old C: drive I should go?

Thank you - I am totally frustrated - have been trying to resolve issues
with the new PC for 2 days and not getting very far.

(Sorry to complain, it's urghhh!)

C:\Documents and Settings\(your user name)\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{identity GUID label}\Microsoft\Outlook Express. Note that
you'll have to set 'Control panel|Folder Options|View' to show hidden files
and folders.
