| | Switching identities? I want to monitor two separate email accounts. I have Windows mail and Vista Business. On previous Outlook Express, you merely clicked on identities and chose and it would switch to the account. On Windows mail, I have the two accounts set up properly, but how do I switch between them? If I click on tools and then accounts it just brings up a wizard. |

You can switch to Windows Live Mail Beta (WLM). It has separate Inbox folders for each account. It supports Pop3, IMAP, HTTP website (EX: Hotmail) email, and is a lot more stable. WLM will automatically import Windows Mail messages, accounts, and settings into it. Contacts will have to be manually imported. (Tools, Contacts, File, Import, Address book for current Windows User.) For US and UK: http://get.live.com/betas/maildesktop_betas For non-US and non-UK locations (direct download): http://g.live.com/1rebeta/WLM_en-us Hope this helps, Shawn |

| | Re: Switching identities? Identities no longer exist in Windows Mail. There are four solutions: 1. If you need the extra privacy, use separate Windows user logins. 2. Purchase an add-on: http://www.oehelp.com/WMIDs 3. You can separate incoming mail with message rules so that mail gets sorted into different folders. 4. You can upgrade to the free Windows Live Mail beta, which has a separate inbox for each account: http://get.live.com/betas/maildesktop_betas Hal -- Hal Hostetler, CPBE -- hhh@xxxxxx Senior Engineer/MIS -- MS MVP-Print/Imaging -- WA7BGX http://www.kvoa.com -- "When News breaks, we fix it!" | | RE: Switching identities? I have the same problem switching to Outlook with Vista. Did you receive a solution that worked that you could share with me?
