Delete contacts from address book in WMa

delete contacts

I had duplicate names in my contact list in create mail. As i try to get rid
of them I end up with an "unknown" listing. I know over 60 of them in my
address book. How can I get rid 0f them?

Hi,

You should be able to open the Contacts folder, "C:\Users\(your username)\Contacts", and delete them like any other file.

Umm, if you are using Windows Mail, it should be the exact same. This is where Windows Mail gets it's list of contacts from. Did you import these contacts from Outlook?

You might do a non-indexed scan for "*.contact" (no quotes) to see a list of all contacts on your hard drive. You should be able to see any duplicates in the search results.

Re: delete contacts

Thanks--but it is not the ssame. I imported both from the same
source--outlook express from windows XP. You can edit the regular contact
list but the one that went into create mail cannot be edited.

Yeah, that was what I was afraid of. I do not know how to edit those, other than changing them in XP and importing them back.

Sorry,
