trying to send an e-mail but getting error message

trying to send an e-mail message but getting an error message 0x8000FFFF.
What does this? What steps do I have to take to be able to send e-mails.

Re: trying to send an e-mail but getting error message

You gave us only a small fraction of the error message.
Right-click on the error message, copy, then paste the whole
thing into a reply here.

Hi Henry,

This may be caused by your antivirus program. Read the "First" section in this tutorial to see if it applies to you. If not, please post back with a exact copy of your error message. This will help us help you better.

Re: trying to send an e-mail but getting error message

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'dos@xxxxxx'. Subject 'IRP5', Account:
'Atia Mailbox', Server: 'smtp.vodacom.co.za', Protocol: SMTP, Server
Response: '450 <dos@xxxxxx>: Recipient address rejected: Domain not found',
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 450, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

Re: trying to send an e-mail but getting error message

Help me set up Windows mail. I prefer using comcast mail, but when I click
on any web addresses, windows mail pops up. It is not set up right or not
working. I prefer using only one carrier. Can you help please.

Hi Barb,

This link will show you how to setup a email account on Windows Mail for Comcast. Look at the bottom of this link to verify your account settings and make any corrections as needed. The instuctions are the same for Windows Mail as Outlook Express.

How do I set up/configure Outlook Express for email?

Hope this helps,
Shawn

I don't think there is a domain ".coza". Is it missing a period?

Re: trying to send an e-mail but getting error message

"Recipient address rejected" tells the story. You are trying to send
to an invalid email address.

Re: trying to send an e-mail but getting error message

By "comcast mail" I suppose you mean their webmail. Comcast also
does POP mail. Sorry, I don't know of any way to set webmail as
the default email client.
