| | Windows Security window preventing outgoing email When attempting to send an email a “Windows Security” window pops up asking for my user name and password. I have no idea why this window pops up as my incoming and outgoing mail settings are correct and the remember my password box is checked in the tool settings. This is new Vista operating software. I know the setting are all correct as my email was working great for a while but now out of no where the Window Security window appears and rejects my user name or password when entered. I tried upper and low case. I cannot get past this window. Oddly enough I am able to receive emails. -- Dave@xxxxxx |

| | Re: Windows Security window preventing outgoing email Which antivirus are you running? Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee or Norton security programs. Those will need to be uninstalled, not just disabled. After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast: http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their email scanning option turned off.
