| | Cannot Empty my Deleted items folder When i go to empty my Deleted items folder, I get the usual message "Are you sure you want to permanently the contents of the 'Deleted items' folder?" - I click OK, and then nothing happens. I have tried manually deleting the emails in my deleted items folder, and i am able to delete some, but not all. I see someone else had a similar problem with mail in their Outbox, and i followed the link to the suggested patch for that, but did not download because I do not know if I have Vista 64-bit or 32-bit (How does one know which version of vista they have?? I only know i am running Vista Business.) Thank you for any help you may have for me! Aloha! Jaana p.s. My system is also sounding like a race car. If you tilt it sideways or vertically, sometimes it will shush up - but it's rather difficult to work on a laptop when it's standing on it's head. Any advise on this? Acrobat lessons perhaps? :-P |

| | Re: Cannot Empty my Deleted items folder Chance are pretty good you have the 32-bit version. Go to Control Panel, System applet, and it will tell you if your OS is 32-bit or 64-bit. | | Re: Cannot Empty my Deleted items folder Thank you both for your speedy responses! I confirmed that my Vista is 32-bit, then downloaded the patch which was recommended to the person who was having similar problems with deleting mail from their inbox, but it did not resolve my problem. I'm still unable to delete the contents of my Deleted Items file. :-( Any tips on what may be causing this problem? Anyone else experiencing this same issue? Many thanks again! | | Re: Cannot Empty my Deleted items folder Hi Janna- I am having the exact same problem- any suggestions anyone? What patch are you talking about? This is so frustrating! Everytime I click on empty deleted items, a new message box pops up, as if I want to write a new message! Thanks for any help anyone can give! | | Re: Cannot Empty my Deleted items folder I've had the same problem and was able to remove the deleted emails by right clicking on the deleted items folder and then selecting empty deleted items folder. The emails were deleted one at a time. Not elegant but it worked. Dave W.
