| | Windows Mail I have two user names & e-mail addresses in a common Windows Mail POP3 mailbox. Incoming mail to second addressee is always rejected as being 'unable to identify this user'. I've done all I know to do; checking set up options; names, passwords, etc. Any suggestions will be apprreciated. Thanks; Gerry King |

| | Re: Windows Mail Can you clarify what you mean by "Incoming mail to second addressee is always rejected..." Are you saying the *sender* receives the notice "unable to identify this user"? If so, it is not a Windows Mail problem. It sounds like you need to talk to the mail provider about how to set up this second account on the server. | | Re: Windows Mail Thanks Gary. Appreciate your response. I am trying to set up two e-mail addresses in my Windows Mail box. One common mail box is OK for my wife and I but would like individual e-mail addresses. Senders tell me e-mails to HER (Sherry) are being rejected as unknown addressee. I have tried sending test message from MY (Gerry) mail box to HER (Sherry) mail box and get a simlar: unable to identify addressee message. I've carefully reviewed all the 'Tools' 'Option'. I thought I had it right but must not be so. MY (Gerry) e-mails are received perfectly. But never been able to get the second address to work. Thanks for your input. Gerry. | | Re: Windows Mail Gary - in below comments I meant to say 'Tools', 'Accounts' - not options. If I'm reading the help information correctly, it should be possible to have multiple e-mail addresses within one account. That's what I'm trying to do: install two e-mail addresses into one common account. One for me and one for my spouse. Thanks... Gerry King "Gerry.King" wrote: Quote: > Thanks Gary. | | Re: Windows Mail As I tried to say before, but apparently not clearly enough, this problem has *nothing* to do with how the two accounts are set up in Windows Mail. How did you obtain this second email address? Unless that second email address has a corresponding slot on the provider's mail server, it has no meaning or existence. | | RE: Windows Mail Thank you so much. You are exactly correct. I went to my ISP; created the new account name; plugged in the needed data; IT WORKS LIKE A CHAMP. It's OK to yell at me when I act dumb!! Thanks again. "Gerry.King" wrote: Quote: > I have two user names & e-mail addresses in a common Windows Mail POP3 > mailbox.
