I know some others have had this problem. this is my error message.

SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

I recieve mail just fine and can delete my mail fine. its just that i cannot
send anything out. Brand new vista computer. i do have the norton anti virus
that it came with installed.

please help!

Looks like you misconfigured your SMTP server setting as imap.aol.com do
not have smtp service, you should try to change it to smtp.aol.com or
your ISPs smtp server.

I have had the same problem. My e-mail worked perfectly fine last night and
now i cannot send e-mails out. It is rather frustrating. I have the same
error message. How do i go about changing it so that it functions as it
should?

Unless your error message is really identical, we will need to see it.
Right-click on the error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.

If it is indeed identical, then the advice given by the previous responder
holds. Go to Tools, Accounts, select the AOL account, Properties,
Servers, edit the outgoing server name, click OK.

ok, so I got on with tech support and the e-mail that i was attemping to send
was apparently corrupted. once i had deleted it and retyped it, it went out
without any issues. I hope that this helps.
