Can't delete email from deleted items folder

can someone please help me out? i have around 100 emails in my deleted items
folder. it comes up with an unknown error has occured message. it also wont
even display the email itself. in the window where it would have the email it
says windows encountered an error, check for low memory or disk space. ive
checked both and of course they are fine. i tried erasing them one by one
each time i opened windows mail (i saw this advice in a thread here in
Microsoft Communities) but that didnt work either. this was supposed to erase
a few each time i re-opened the program. if anyone knows anything and could
help me out I would appreciate it.

Hi Dean,

Read the "First" section in this tutorial about antivirus programs to help prevent this from happening again, and then install the KB941090 Microsoft Update in the "Second" section to fix the stuck message problem.

RE: Can't delete email from deleted items folder

If you have Vista (which I had) you will find your fix here. It took about 20
seconds to download the fix. I had one email that had the same errors coming
up and I couildn't get rid of it.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Just pick vista 32 or 64 depending on what you have and it fixed it.

Good luck---

Download and install this fix, with Windows Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether to use the 32-bit version or
the 64-bit version, try the 32-bit version first. Certain common
antivirus programs, such as most of those from Norton or McAfee,
or a recent one from Trend, tend to cause such problems, although
seldom immediately, so if you have such a program, remember
where to find the fix - you are likely to need it again.

Hi TG,

This will show you how to fix the stuck undeletable email message problem:

The KB941090 update will just fix the problem for now. You must stop the cause to prevent it from happening again. Read the "First" section in this tutorial about antivirus and anti-spyware/adware programs to help prevent this from happening again, then install the KB941090 Microsoft Update in the "Second" section to fix the stuck message problem.

Have a great day,
