Inadvertant closing of Windows Mail

By mistake I keep closing Mial with the "X" button.. Is there a way to
configure Mail so that it then goes to the right hand side taskbar, rather
like (I hate to mention it) Incredimail does ?

Hi MSMB,

I believe you are wanting a tray icon. This tutorial will show you how to add a tray icon for Windows Mail. With it, Windows Mail will minimize to the lower right corner tray icon instead of the taskbar.

Windows Mail Tray Icon

Try this:
Windows Mail Tray Tool

What I don't know about that applet is whether it is activated by
clicking on the X or clicking on the Minimize icon.

Hi Gary,

The WinMailTray tray icon is started just like any othe program by it's shortcut. You can then start Windows Mail as usual or by the tray icon, but you have to use the tray icon's right click options to be able to minimize Windows Mail to the tray icon instead of the taskbar. The minimize, maximize, and close buttons, on the Windows Mail window, will work as they always have.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Your welcome Gary,

It would be nice if it allowed Window Mail to minimize to the tray icon by clicking the normail minimize button. At least this way the program is simple and noninvasive to Vista or Windows Mail. We all know how Windows Mail does with a invasive program. (haha)
