| | Restore Windows Mail cleaning hard drive I am having trouble restoring windows mail messages after having to reformat my hard drive. I have an external drive that I had been backing up using vista backup and restore. Using "my comptuer" I can find the files on the external hard drive, but when I use either windows mail 'import' feature or use backiup and restore, I can't find the files. It is like they are gone. Could they be hidden and if so, how do I un-hide them? Any help would be appreciated and I can provide more detail if needed. PS: I have been able to restore pictures and some other files using 'backup and restore', so I know what I am doing, at least I know a little bit. lol. |

| | RE: Restore Windows Mail cleaning hard drive You nailed it. Windows Mail folders are hidden. Go to Control Panel, Folder Options, View tab, check show hidden folders, files. The files are in C:/Users/<yourusername>/APPData/Local/Microsoft/Windows Mail/Local Folders/.... -- qfreed "jrtowner" wrote: Quote: > I am having trouble restoring windows mail messages after having to reformat > my hard drive. | | RE: Restore Windows Mail after cleaning hard drive Thanks, that worked perfectly. I knew it was something easy. "Qfreed" wrote: Quote: > You nailed it. Windows Mail folders are hidden.
