You have two options (besides the draconian measure of restoring
the whole computer to factory condition).
1. Reset Windows Mail. Follow the procedure given here:
Windows Mail problems
Scroll down to the section labeled "How to Backup and Reset
Windows Mail." As you can see, this is rather labor-intensive.
2. A better option is to simply upgrade to Windows Live Mail:
