| | Message rules in Vista Mail I set message rules in Vista Mail to forward mesages from specific senders to various folders. Twice all my rules have just disappeared and have had to be recreated from scratch. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a way to create a backup of the message rules? Alec Benson |

| | Re: Message rules in Vista Mail If there is a limit, it's more than 4.... as I have 8 mail rules. When you create this rule, are you making sure to give it a different name, and click on "save rule", and then click on "Ok", rather than "Cancel"? I've tried reshuffling my order of rules and it seems that whatever rule is on the bottom (fourth in my case) disappears after two or three 'Mail' restarts. | | Re: Message rules in Vista Mail I would guess that your problem is caused by either BitDefender or Ad-Aware. The only way to find out is to uninstall one, reboot, then see if the Windows Mail problem has disappeared. You may have to uninstall both, at least for testing purposes. -- Gary VanderMolen [MS MVP-WLM] "rock" <rock@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:222134B5-8B44-4BAC-804A-E300A9B2EA14@xxxxxx Quote: > I'm running BitDefender Internet Security 2008 > and Ad-Aware 2007 > Windows Defender and Firewall are turned off. > > > > "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: > Quote: >> Which third party security programs are you running? >> (antivirus, anti-spyware, etc.) >> >> -- >> Gary VanderMolen [MS MVP-WLM] >> >> >> "rock" <rock@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:01F01C67-5DA9-4E0E-9068-73E09012CE1A@xxxxxx Quote: >> > Rules are set up correctly. | | Re: Message rules in Vista Mail my first suspect would be bit defender. uninstall it and try it for a couple of days. if you use it for virus then try either AVG or AVAST. if for firewall. then enable windows firewall. it has the ability to use both in/out bound rules for protection. mikeyhsd@xxxxxx "rock" <rock@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:222134B5-8B44-4BAC-804A-E300A9B2EA14@xxxxxx I'm running BitDefender Internet Security 2008 and Ad-Aware 2007 Windows Defender and Firewall are turned off.
