| | RE: Importing my address book from Outlook Express to Windows Mail I had the same situation today. I used an external hard drive (a very good thing to have for backing up your documents). I opened my address book in Outlook Express, copied and pasted the data to the external hard drive, then transferred the external hard drive to the new computer and copied and pasted the data into the Windows Mail address book. | | RE: Importing my address book from Outlook Express to Windows Mail Vista has a program called Windows Easy Transfer that you might want to try. Start, Help and Support, search for 'Windows Easy Transfer' and it will give you a description of the program and a link to it or, alternativelly, Start, enter 'Windows Easy Access' into the Start Search box and you'll get a link to the program. If you don't want to try that program, the files in OE that you are looking for end in .wab. You didn't say if your copy of OE was on your old computer still. If so, copy the .wab file(s) to your new computer. In the Start, Start Search box, type in 'Windows Address Book' and you'll get a link to same. Import the .wab file(s). Open Windows Mail and click on Contacts icon. Your OE contacts should be there. qfreed "Judy" wrote: Quote: > I recently got a new computer and I want to know if there is a way to import > my address book from Outlook express to Windows Mail I have the same e mail > address but have no clue how to get the info...I would appreciate if anyone > could help me Thanks so much |
