full media display 20 " across

when i first got this new dell with 20 " monitor , was able to view pic's or
vidio side to side , entire monitor now there is about 1 " black on each
side . have tried everything to remedy. my digital camara is a cannon ?
monitor is a 20 " flat screen dell .

please help if you can

Does your cannon take wide screen pictures or video. If not then black
pillar bars have to be added to each side of your wide screen display in
order not to distort the image by stretching them.
