Vista - Quicktime Error 46

Hi,

When I install QuickTime for Windows, I get an error message:
Error 46: Quicktime could not load of find QuickTime ActiveX control.

But if happens only when update the QT to the last version.

Can anybody help me?

I have the same error 46 problem that was caused by the latest quicktime update. I have tried every fix that I have found and none of them worked. I called Apple about this and they say they have never heard of error 46. There are many other free and good media players available... I suggest switching to one of these.

I have found a solution to quicktime error 46.

This was given to me by Kodak as their new easyshare software requires quicktime and I had told them of error 46. Click on the following link to get instructions for the fix. This worked fine for me with no problems.

The fix requires you install a Microsoft utility, then just run the utility.

I'll note that I had previously tried several alternative fixes found in user forums but none of them worked on my computer (Vista 32, intel core-dual,2 GB).

Doesn't it seem bizarre that Apple does not even acknowledge this as a problem.
