    Changing WMP keyboard shortcuts

    Hi,

    does anyone know how to change the keyboard shortcuts in Windows Media
    Player version 11? I'd like to change the shortcut for pausing to the
    spacebar ideally.

    The hotkeys for WMP cannot be changed. You have two options:

    1. Contact Microsoft and make a suggestion to allow keyboard shortcuts to be customized
    2. Purchase a keyboard with extended media functions that include previous/play/pause/stop/next keys

    You actually *can* do this, it's just a pain:
    If the active focus is set to the pertinent playlist, pressing spacebar will
    then play/pause.

    David added that for y'all based upon my request to him. Why doesn't it
    always do that? Because the spacebar is a UI activation event in Windows,
    and doing that would wreak havoc with accessibility, so it's just a
    non-starter as an idea, sorry.
