    You can't go backwards with the project file... about all you can do is save
    the project to a DV-AVI file and use it as a source file, with some extra
    editing as needed.

    =====================================
    The .mswmm project file from Movie Maker 6
    will not be compativble with the earlier version
    of Movie Maker.

    If you save (Publish) the project in the .wmv or
    ..avi format you should be able to view it on your
    XP machine...and import it into the earlier version
    of Movie Maker as a source file.
