No sound from pps file played in Vista PowerPoint Viewer 2007

Brand new (1 day old) Vaio all-in-one PC running Vista Home Premium; both
audio and video run great ... except ...

Email with pps attachment plays video but no audio.

I have downloaded and installed PowerPoint Viewer 2007; still no sound.

I have uninstalled the other, pre-installed Microsoft Office apps.

This email plays correctly on my XP machine.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

The pps file is in a Windows email file; I guess that is an eml file.
