| | Microsoft Picture it! Premium 9 Is this campatible with Vista? It seemed to load and work, but when I tried to print, it wouldn't do anything. I tried printing from a different program to test it (like word) but it still wouldn't print. I uninstalled picture it and then the printer worked again. What is the problem? If it is not compatible, is there a patch or upgrade? If not, can someone recommend a good program that's not too expensive...under $100. Thanks in advance. |

No guarantees...but the following steps may help you to run PI9 on your Vista system. Right click the executable (desktop shortcut) and from the menu...choose... Properties / Compatibility tab. Check the box..."Run As Administrator" / Apply / OK. Also try...using Compatibility mode and choose Windows XP. (931362) How to troubleshoot a program that does not run as expected after it is installed on Windows Vista http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931362/en-us The latest version of MS Picture It!/Digital Image would be a good choice...it is optimized for Vista. The full name is: "Microsoft Digital Image Suite Anniversary Edition". Amazon and eBay are usually good sources for out dated software. There's a 60 day trial version you can download if you would like to give it a try: Microsoft Digital Image Starter Edition 2006 http://tinyurl.com/28loxr (this product line has been discontinued but you can still download the Starter Version and run it for 60 days) Unlike the retail version...the trial does not have the ability to create VCDs and it does not include the clipart and pre-formatted projects. -- John Inzer MS Picture It! - Digital Image MVP Digital Image Highlights and FAQs http://tinyurl.com/aczzp Notice This is not tech support I am a volunteer Solutions that work for me may not work for you Proceed at your own risk |
