Vista - Printing in Windows Photo Gallery

My computer opens tiff files in Windows Photo Gallery. I get faxes sent to
me as tiff. When I try to print them, photo gallery distorts the fax so it's
streched wide and compressed from top to bottom. No amount of rotating or
telling it not to fit the picture to the frame makes a difference. Am I
missing some setting or something?

I have the same problem... I spent 7 hours on the phone yesterday with both
Vista and Microsoft Office and neither could figure it out. After all of
that, they told me that they believed the problem to be with the printer
configuration and to contact HP. That didn't work either. If you hear
anything let me know, and I'll do the same.

I have a Dell printer. Somehow I doubt the problem could be the printer
configuration for two different makers of printers. Another person in my
office has XP and does not have a problem printing.

Are you using a fax program? Or Windows fax?

Yes I have exactly the same problem when printing to a pdf printer or the
canon printer. I don't think it is the printer that it is doing it.

I just did some further research on this problem and there is a workaround
using MODI for those with Office installed.

You can read this post which worked well for me:

Looks like windows photo gallery is just that a very limited photo viewing
software.
