Thumnails Won't Load In Any Folder

have Vista Ultimate 64-Bit, and for some reason today it stopped showing all
image and video thumbnails. It tries to load them for a split second and then
they disappear and am left with just the generic thumbnail view. I tried
running disk cleanup and deleting thumbnails but that did not fix. I read
some similar posts and have checked all my folder settings and have checked
and unchecked everything that needs to be. I even ran system restore and that
still didn't work. Any help from any one would be greatly appreciated. Thank
you in Advance.

The first thing I'd try would be System Restore back to when it was last
working. If that doesn't work what things have changed on the system would
no doubt help, as I suspect this is down to an update or 3rd party software.
