Nero has a dozen different sub-programs.
Are you using the Convert Audio Files (Encode Files)?
If so, add the file you wish to convert, and in the Output file format box,
select
PCM Wav File (*.wav, *.wave)
It will save in a .wav format
Or do you have file extensions hidden?
in Windows Explorer..
Organize - Folder & Search Options - View
uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types"
