Recording Volume Control

Hi, I don't want to sound funny, but I cannot find the Recording Volume
Control.
Windows Vista Home Premium. I would appreciate if anyone could help me.

Hi Remigijus,

You will just need to go into "Sound" from the Control Panel (Classic View), then click on the "Recording" tab and double click on your default Microphone. Click on the "Level" tab in Microphone properties. You can now adjust the record volume levels.

Re: Recording Volume Control

unfortunately,
there are two sliders, microphone balance and microphone boost (which
creates a lot of noise due to a very straightforward digital amplification
without any noise reduction).

Remigijus,

Look in the same area, but in the "Enhancements" and "Advanced" tabs to see if there are any quality settings you can adjust to help with the noise.

I have the same problem with recording level. However when I go to "Sound"
from the Control Panel (Classic View), then click on the "Recording" tab and
double click on "Microphone/Line In" there is no "Level" tab to take me to
any adjustment display. There is only a "General" tab which leads to nothing
of any use.
Also, I cannot hear what I am recording through my built-in speakers. The
speakers work ok, are not muted, and the display shows activity, ie the green
bars rise and fall with the sound level - but no sound comes out.
Please can someone help me with this? Thanks, Steve.
